All About Kia
Hello, my name is Kia Hunter and I reside in Mobile, Al. I am a little unsure of what my major interests are. I would like to be an elementary school teacher, but I would like to venture outside of the classroom and maybe become a guidance counselor, reading specialist, or speech pathologists. I obtained my associate's degree from Bishop State Community College, I then transferred to Auburn University for one semester. Due to issues beyond my control I returned to Mobile and I enrolled in the University of South Alabama.
My hobbies include talking on the phone, talking period I just love to talk! I am not a morning person which is not great seeing that I want to enter into the world of education where my days start at six or seven in the morning! I like to cook a little bit for my family, which consists of my mom, Ivory, and little sister, Gecor. I chose to enter the education field because I want to make a difference in people’s lives. I love to see my former teachers who really showed an interest in me and made a difference in my life. I want to influence children and help mold them into great men and women in society and what better way to do that than by becoming an educator.
Dr. Pausch's Time Management
Dr. Pausch’s video on time management was very helpful and true. I learned that the majority of the topics he discussed did apply to me. I am very poor with time management. The statement he made, “Failing to plan, is planning to fail” was a pretty accurate statement. How can a person know what they will do in life if they do not have a solid or somewhat game plan? I also liked the suggestion of having to do lists just because I am a poor planner and I can be very forgetful.
